From May 14 to 16, the 2025 World Digital Education Conference was held in Wuhan. Centered on the theme "Educational Development and Transformation: The Era of Intelligence" the conference aimed to respond to the United Nations’ initiatives on global educational transformation and to promote the advancement and reform of education in the intelligent era. Yu Jihong, President of Beijing Normal University (BNU), and Vice President Chen Xing attended the conference.
Prof S. Joe Qin, President and Wai Kee Kau Chair Professor of Data Science at Lingnan University, led a delegation to the 2025 World Digital Education Conference in Wuhan, hosted by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China. President Qin was invited to discuss “Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Future Teachers” with scholars from around the world at the “Transformation of Teachers’ Roles and Enhancement of Abilities in the Intelligent Era” forum.
From May 14 to 17, 2025, a delegation from Moscow City University participated in the World Digital Education Conference (WDEC), held in Wuhan, Hubei Province, China. The event was organized by the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China, Central China Normal University (an MCU partner), and the World Digital Education Alliance (WDEA), which MCU joined in January 2023.
From May 15 to 16, 2025, a delegation from the National Institute of Development Administration (NIDA), led by Professor Tippawan Lorsuwannarat, Ph.D., Acting President of NIDA, and Associate Professor Li Renliang, Ph.D., Advisor for University and Interagency Relations in the People’s Republic of China, took part in the World Digital Education Conference 2025 in Wuhan, China.
The “2025 World Digital Education Conference”, themed “Education Development and Transformation: The Era of Intelligence,” was jointly held by Ministry of Education of People’s Republic of China (PRC), China National Commission for UNESCO, and the People’s Government of Hubei Province from May 14 to 16 in Wuhan, Hubei Province. Ding Xuexiang, vice premier of the State Council of China, attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech. Jun Liu, rector of City University of Macau (CityU); and Ip Kuai Peng, vice rector of CityU were invited to take part in the event. Rector Jun Liu presented a keynote lecture at a parallel session yesterday entitled “What Difference will Differences Make between AI for STEM and AI for Non-STEM”.
Wuhan, 16 May 2025 - “Explore Digitally, Act Wisely: Empowering Large-Scale Personalized Lifelong Learning through Digital Intelligence”, one of the parallel sessions during the 2025 World Digital Education Conference, was held in Wuhan, Hubei Province on 15th May.
On the morning of May 14, 2025 World Digital Education Alliance General and the First Council Meeting were released in Wuhan International Conference and Exhibition Center, held by World Digital Education Alliance (WDEA). Yang Zongkai, President of Wuhan University of Technology (WUT), attended the meetings on behalf of WUT, the inaugural council member of WDEA.
As part of its ongoing commitment to advancing digital transformation in education, the Arab League Educational, Cultural and Scientific Organization took part (virtually) in the General Assembly of the World Digital Education Alliance (WDEA), held on May 14, 2025, in Wuhan, China.
